Testimonials

I asked Karen to support me in preparing for a Ski holiday.
I had previously recovered from ME/CFS and had a functional physical level but needed that extra support and knowledge to build my strength and stamina appropriately for skiing.
Karen is extremely professional, approachable and understanding, giving me the expert advice needed while also supporting me with building my strength at a pace that was appropriate for me.
I highly recommend Karen for any physical and wellbeing issues, and I will definitely continue to use her service in the future.

I felt totally involved in the assessment (MS) and setting of goals and targets. My target of walking again and being able to look after myself independently wasn’t laughed at, she agreed we would do all we could to achieve it. I was amazed by how right the exercises felt for me. Strength started to come back to my body quickly. My self-confidence increased and I started to become the person I was before this disease.

On June 12th I walked with a four wheeled frame, and many tears were shed. I am starting back to work, home based on July 3rd. I cannot praise Karen or thank her enough for what has quite simply changed my life around.

Prior to being admitted to hospital, my days were spent slumped in a chair, consumed with thoughts of how I could end my life without causing my family more heartache. Now I feel positive, strong and confident that I can progress even further. Thank you Karen for being unfazed by my high expectations.

Karen has provided amazing guidance and support. I have been trying to manage CFS on my own for a number of years. I was stuck in a push crash cycle which left me having to sleep 16+ hours a day when crashing. Alongside this I was also trying to mask my symptoms to minimise impact on my work and friends leaving my family in particular my children having to miss out on time with me while I slept.

Karen helped me link my symptoms, the science and practical support ideas together whilst providing a safe space for me to explore the underlying reasons why I made choices knowing it would lead to a crash.

Whilst I still have a push crash cycle it is less extreme only needing small top up naps and recovery out of the crash is shorter. I am more aware of my choices and tendency to fall into old habits and energy depleting mindsets when I start to 'push' too much. I know to utilise my scaffolds such as active rest, chunking, mindfulness and most importantly my post it notes around the house with a range of prompts which basically say no - if you would like to know more about my journey - let me check my calendar and get back to you

I have Benign Positional Vertigo (BPPV) which until recently has never bothered me. In April I started to have "attacks" virtually every day. It was worrying me as I was afraid to drive as well. Karen came to see me and did a procedure on my head. As a result I haven't had any problems since. I'm very grateful to her.

Meryl, Bridgend

During our first session, (professional coaching) I truly appreciated your calm, patient, and understanding approach. It created a safe space for me to speak openly about my experiences. Although it was an emotional session and I found myself in tears, your gentle guidance and support helped me feel heard and validated.

In our second session, I found it helpful how we moved forward by identifying specific problems and setting realistic and meaningful goals. It gave me a clearer understanding of my current situation and what steps I can take to move forward. Your ability to guide me through this process made a big difference, and I’m feeling more equipped to take positive action.

Our third session was especially valuable in helping me reflect on what’s truly mine to carry and what’s within my control. That shift in mindset motivated me to take some positive steps.

You supported me through a difficult situation, helping me reflect on my approach and guiding me toward a more thoughtful and constructive response. That gave me a greater sense of confidence and calm. I really appreciated your steady, insightful presence.

In our fourth session, it was helpful to follow up on that situation and reflect on what I’d learned. You helped me identify what I could do differently and think through better actions moving forward. Going through resources and available support together made things feel more manageable and reminded me I don’t have to do it all alone.

The session also helped me navigate thoughts and uncertainties. You supported me in exploring options clearly and objectively, and working through the pros and cons. That brought structure to something that felt overwhelming and helped me form realistic, achievable action steps. I left with more clarity and confidence.

In our final session, I valued the space to talk through another situation. Reflecting on how I chose to speak up assertively reinforced that I can advocate for what feels right. Our discussion gave me even more confidence to approach situations with clarity and self-assurance.

You also helped me realise I don’t need to react impulsively — it’s okay to take time, especially with difficult situations. That’s something I’ll carry forward.

I just want to say a heartfelt thank you. Your support, calm presence, and thoughtful guidance have been incredibly meaningful. I’ll genuinely miss speaking with you. The coaching helped me build confidence, become more assertive, and start to heal in a way I wasn’t sure was possible.

It has definitely helped me re-evaluate my recovery and better understand my condition (Long Covid). I have become more aware of changes in my symptoms and trying to react to what my body is telling me more kindly. I have a more evidence-based understanding of what my body needs to do to recover and how I can facilitate this. I feel more calm and accepting of my condition. I liked that Karen offered a tailored service to my particularly difficulties. She offered evidence-based solutions and was never judgemental. She provided a lot of useful information by video that I could look at in between sessions so that our time together was spent discussing relevant topics. The time we had together felt well used and well thought out. Thank you very much for your help over recent weeks.

Gemma, Whitchurch

Since working with Karen I truly believe that I have improved in many aspects of my illness. My understanding of Long Covid has increased exponentially. Karen has given me so many tools to help me to cope with many of the symptoms. Through various strategies provided to me, I am able to pace myself to get through each day without too many problems. This is a huge improvement compared to my health & wellness prior to working with Karen where I would regularly 'crash' as soon as I returned home from work. This would often lead to me cancelling plans and commitments. I now feel that with careful planning and pacing, I am able to continue with more of the nice things in life!!

It has also helped me to realise the importance of looking after me, rather than purely dedicating my time to everyone else. I now understand that if I don't give myself some self-care, I cannot provide the care and attention to friends & family. The various breathing exercises have also had an impact on my day to day life. The small percentages that I gain from these definitely help me to feel better and less anxious. The help, guidance and support that Karen has provided to me has really helped me to think more positively, and to look forward to each new day. Karen, I cannot thank you enough.

On top of this, one of the biggest positives is how incredibly understanding and personable Karen is. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, but she is able to relate everything to me as an individual. She had an amazing ability to identify how I felt, and could suggest ideas that I could relate to and utilise accordingly. I always felt that I was being given everything that I could possibly use to improve. As already mentioned I cannot thank you enough. What you have done for me over the last few months has been incredible and life-changing. You have given me so many positives to work with, whereas prior to your help I was almost feeling helpless. I now look forward to each new day with the courage to not give in to this horrible illness!! Thank you Karen, you are amazing!!

Dave, Rhydyfelin

Karen was able to give me the specific advice, support and reassurance that I needed to start and continue my recovery from Long Covid. I was able to completely trust Karen’s advice having previously known her as a colleague and knowing that Karen had personal experience of what I was going through. I’m extremely grateful for Karen’s kindness and encouragement during the difficult time when recovery seemed impossible.

I started going to Karen's class in Laleston 3 weeks ago. Although I am not yet 65, Karen kindly allowed me to attend because of my various "ailments". One of the problems i have is muscle waste in my legs, especially my thighs. Prior to joining Karen's class I could only climb stairs by pulling myself up with the banister and a rail. I am now able to walk upstairs normally, even carrying armful of washing!! I haven't been able to do this for the last 3 years. I can also get up from the floor which again I haven't been able to do for a long time. Karen, you're amazing and have made my life so much easier already.

Wendy, Bridgend

Thank you for all that you have done for me. I've been told so many times that I would never walk again (with MS) and Karen made it possible for me to walk again. She is a very special person. Thank you very much.

Dennis, Port Talbot

I would like to thank Karen who has treated me in the past few months.
I was given treatment and exercises for the pain and pins and needles in my right arm.
At the moment things are well and I do not need any more treatment.

Maureen, Vale of Glamorgan

After suffering an injury to my knee a few years ago, I was struggling to undertake the exercise classes I was doing previously. I knew I needed to gain more balance & strength to be able to move well. When I saw the advert for the move well class being started by Karen I felt this was a perfect fit for me. I have been attending now for five weeks and feel my balance and strength improving week by week. Now I'm finding it easier to go up and down stairs, and my knee injury isn't bothering me as much.

Karen shows each part of the different exercise and how it assists us as we age. The class is extremely well structured and I would highly recommend for anybody who is experiencing any issues of feeling unsteady, or less strength. I cannot praise Karen enough on her expertise, knowledge and truly believe that she has assisted me to improve in my confidence & movement.
